The Drolet brand began in 1875 through the vision of Francois-Xavier Drolet, a mechanical engineer who located the company in Quebec. He and his team invented, manufactured and repaired a range of machinery and steam engines. The company has a sterling reputation for high quality and its dedication to giving back to the community as evidenced by the Drolet Street Fountains.

The Drolet brand is manufactured under the company name of Stove Builder International. It remains a family-owned manufacturing enterprise, currently headquartered in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures with a subsidiary branch in Quebec.
